FAQ

Questions people ask us

Who is Inala for?

Owners and finance people at South African businesses with roughly 2 to 50 staff who use Xero and want to know who owes them, chase it politely and stay on budget without waiting for the accountant.

Does Inala change anything in Xero?

No. The connection is read only. Inala cannot create, edit or delete invoices, payments or anything else in Xero.

Do I need Xero to try it?

No. After you create your business you can load sample data for Ridgeline, a fictional engineering firm in Midrand, and clear it again with one click.

Does Inala email my clients?

Not in the beta. Inala writes the follow-up and you copy it or open it in your own mail app, so it comes from your address. Then you mark the step as sent.

How does Inala decide what is overdue?

An invoice is overdue from the day after its due date, in South African time. Drafts, voided invoices and invoices fully settled by a credit note are not counted as owed. Invoices in other currencies are shown separately and never added to the rand totals.

How often does it sync with Xero?

Once a day automatically, and whenever you press Sync now, at most once every 10 minutes. It reads the last 12 months of invoices and payments, every invoice still open, and 12 months of profit and loss.

Can I connect more than one Xero organisation?

Each business in Inala connects to one Xero organisation. If you look after several, create a business in Inala for each one. They are kept completely separate.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta, and there is no card to enter. We will tell account owners well before any paid plan starts.

Who can see my figures?

Only the people you invite to your business, with the role you choose: owner, admin, finance or viewer. Viewers can look but not change anything.

How do I leave?

Export your data as CSV in Settings, then delete the business. That removes everything we hold for it and disconnects Xero.

Is it on the Xero App Store?

Not yet. Xero certifies apps once they have real customers, and we are still in beta.
