Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Inala processes and why. It is written with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) in mind. Auxo Digital is the responsible party for Inala.

What we collect

• Your account: your name and email address from Auxo ID, and which businesses you belong to with which role.
• Your business profile: name, industry and financial year-end.
• Data read from Xero when you connect it: invoices, payments, customer contacts (names, email addresses and phone numbers), your chart of accounts and profit and loss figures.
• What you enter in Inala: budgets, chase notes and promised payment dates.
• An activity log of changes made in each business.

Why we use it

Only to run Inala for you: to show what is owed, prepare follow-up copy, compare your budget with your actuals and keep a record of changes. The lawful basis is the agreement between you and us to provide the service.

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising or share it with anyone who does not help us run Inala.

Your clients' information

The contact details of your customers come from your Xero file. For that information you are the responsible party and we process it on your behalf, only to provide Inala to you.

Who processes it with us

• Convex, which hosts the database and server functions.
• Vercel, which hosts the website.
• Auxo ID, Auxo Digital's sign-in service.
• Xero, when you choose to connect it.

Some of these providers store data outside South Africa. We use providers that protect information to a standard comparable to POPIA.

How long we keep it

For as long as your business is active in Inala. When an owner deletes the business, its data is removed from the live database straight away. Provider backups age out on their own schedule.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it is used. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. Email support@auxodigital.africa to make a request.

Cookies

Inala uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to complete the Xero connection safely. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell account owners by email before the change takes effect.
